However, the BEYOND system, used in our surgery, represents an entirely safe procedure controlled by a dentist. The system is based on the use of hydrogen peroxide gel, which is applied on teeth, and a special lamp. The lamp has a specific wave-length, which does not heat or damage teeth, and accelerates the painless whitening process to 30 minutes. The gel itself contains fluoride, which is highly beneficial for our teeth. Before treatment, the dentist establishes the colour of patient’s teeth. Then, he protects the patient’s gums with a special substance and applies gel. After around 30 minutes of the lamp treatment, and depending on many individual factors, teeth become 2-4 shades lighter. This new shade is not too accentuated, and teeth do not acquire the unnatural chalk-white colour. Instead, they obtain natural whiteness and shine originating from your natural shade. Your new shade lasts between 2-5 years. Non-vital teeth are those that have had their nerve extracted from the root canal. Such teeth gradually change colour, and become noticeably darker than the surrounding vital ones. Whitening procedure of non-vital teeth lasts for a few days, and in most cases, it is possible to restore the old colour and shine.
